Without Dust Suppression You Run The Risk Of The Following

Without proper dust control, your workers are exposed to harmful dust, particulates, and contaminants in the air. Breathing difficulties, skin and eye irritation, and respiratory diseases can all result from this.

Dust can also interfere with your equipment. Constant exposure over time can damage machinery, with thick layers of dust hardening in components. This results in machine downtime, clean-up costs, and the replacement of damaged machinery.

When dust is not suppressed properly, it escapes beyond site boundaries. Nearby properties, businesses, and wildlife can be affected. Not containing dust in the right manner can result in surprise visits from the EPA, large fines being issued, or worse your site being shut down.

OZmist's Dust Suppression Systems Help Create Safer Workplaces & Cleaner Environments.

OZmist’s range of industrial fog cannons & static mist lines / fixed systems are sophisticated mist delivery systems that help suppress airborne dust & odour particles for any worksite, facility, or environment.

Our Australian-made Fog Cannons are designed to subdue airborne dust and odour particles from a distance. Available in a range of sizes to contain dust fallout anywhere from 10m to 100m away.

They’re efficient, safer & more effective as OZmist’s ultra-fine droplets hang in the air longer, bonding with fugitive dust particles, and dropping them to the ground.

Silica Dust Safety (respirable crystalline silica, or RCS), is one of a number of stricter worksite Code of Practices focusing on safety. Managing dust fallout for workers’ safety, and avoidance of site shutdown or fines, is just a part of what’s driving demand for OZmist’s dust suppression mist systems and Australian-made fog cannons.

Misting will not wet the product or take its toll on equipment or your organic produce, as is the case with traditional sprinklers, wetting techniques & spray bars.

OZmist’s ultra-fine mist will bond with a tiny airborne particle whereas a traditional sprinkler droplet will not. So the shift to better practices is underway with OZmist an Australian partner to support projects of all sizes.

A Powerful High Pressure System To Knock Out Dust

How It Works?

Ozmist’s Dust Suppression solutions utilise a high-pressure pump module connected to a huge water supply tank via a pump feed. The high-pressure pump module pressurises tap water to 70 bar (1000 psi). As the water passes through the nozzle it is broken into billions of tiny water droplets that average 10 microns in size (human hair is average 150 microns). As the ultra-fine droplets fall, they attach themselves to the airborne dust particles and knock them out of the air.

What are Dust Suppression Systems & Where Are They Used?

What is a Dust Suppression System? A dust suppression system is a technology used to control the spread of dust particles in various environments, such as construction sites, waste and recycling plants, quarries, manufacturing and industrial facilities. The primary goal of these systems is to reduce or eliminate the amount

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, by installing a dust suppression mist system in waste transfer stations, recycling plants, crushing plants etc. you can effectively eliminate airborne dust from inside and also from exiting the building. It doesn’t matter how big the building is as misting lines can be assembled to any length.
The low volume of water emitted from the specially designed misting nozzles helps avoid residual problems such as pooling or oversaturation but the weather can play a part in how quickly the mist evaporates and if moisture makes it down to lower levels. A correctly designed system will have isolation valves installed to allow sections to be turned off depending upon conditions.

To capture the maximum amount of dust in the air, water droplet particles need to be of a similar size to that of the dust particle they are trying to trap. If the water droplets are too large, smaller, airborne dust particles will be deflected around the droplet. There also needs to be more mist falling than dust rising to ensure that all of the dust particles are encapsulated.

The Ozmist system uses mist nozzles that produce millions of 10 micron droplets which is suitable for use with PM10 dust particles.

Yes but you must be careful to ensure that the high pressure mist pump disperses a minimum of 60% of its maximum rated capacity otherwise it may overheat and do damage to the internal seals and pump parts.
As per the EPA website, employers must provide and maintain, so far as is reasonably practicable, a working environment for their employees that is safe and without risks to health. (OHS Act s21) To ensure that employers provide a working environment that is safe and without risk to health, they must eliminate risks to health and safety so far as is reasonably practicable, and if it is not reasonably practicable to eliminate the risks to health and safety, reduce those risks so far as is reasonably practicable.
All Ozmist systems are supplied in kit form with an easy to follow design and set of instructions. In most cases we use high pressure nylon tube which the installer cuts to the predetermined length. The short lengths of tube – anywhere from 1m to 1.5m, are joined with a Push Lock connector. The nozzle hand screws into these connectors. Ozmist provide all of the fittings required for the mist system installation.
Like any piece of electrical equipment there is maintenance required from time to time. The pump module is fitted with two 250mm filter canisters which contain sediment filters. Depending upon the water quality, filters will last up to 12 months when connected to mains water. The pump that pressurises the water has an oil reservoir. This oil needs to be changed over at around 500 hour intervals. Of course the stainless steel cabinet that houses the pump will be to be kept reasonably clean.
