Fixed Misting Lines
Known as Mist Lines, Fixed Systems, or Static Misting, this approach utilizes individual nozzles fitted at regular intervals along rigid stainless steel or semi-flexible nylon tubing. These systems provide significant cooling for heat-challenged spaces and are highly cost-effective to install and operate.
Water is pressurized to 1000psi (70 bar) via an OZmist pump module, ensuring the mist evaporates instantly to deliver cool, dry air. The supply line from the pump typically uses 3/8” nylon, while the nozzle sections can feature either nylon or 3/8” stainless steel.
Our stainless “Quick Fit” tubing is pre-machined at 750mm or 1m intervals for a neat, stylish, and long-lasting finish. Alternatively, our 3/8” nylon “Push Lock” line offers a quick and easy installation from 25m or 100m rolls. Every kit includes a comprehensive range of components, including junctions, tees, and elbows, to suit any layout.
Features
- Incredibly simple to install, procedure is the same whether it is a 15m kit for a marquee, or a 200m design for a large event precinct.
- Effective mist formula, a system running at 1000psi or 70bar with standard nozzles atomising on release and cooling air approx 3m out from each nozzle.
- With a large number of fittings available for either Push lock and Quick Fit we can design a system for almost any location.
- OZmist’s 0.2mm nozzle creates millions of tiny 10 micron droplets, low flow rate for such a high surface area & therefore so effective for cooling.
Specifications
- OZmist’s nozzles creates millions of tiny 5-10 micron droplets that atomise on release, evaporating and cooling, without condensation or drips.
- Flow rates per nozzle are 0.2mm (56ml/minute) or 0.15mm (36ml/minute)
- Pumps come in a variety of sizes and the number correlates to the maximum number of standard 0.2mm nozzles they can run. Small and medium alfresco systems will often use our CPM25 (1.4ltr) and CPM55 (3ltr) pumps. OZmist’s OZ range of pumps go from the OZ85 (5ltr) and continue up to the OZ320 or more.
- Nylon tubing comes in rolls and easily cut with appropriate hose cutters.
- Stainless steel is ⅜” diameter with lengths pre cut at our factory. Sections have a notch grooved into each end, for a small 3mm grub screw to locate during installation.
Benefits
- Cost effective and simple to set up: Require only a single water and power connection at the pump located close by.
• Drip Free, no wetting of objects, floors or materials when running a high pressure pump.
• Versatile, lines can be branched off for different purposes or zones, ie cooling patrons on a restaurant balcony, aswell as a rooftop bar, all from the 1 pump.
• Quiet Operation, pumps can be located within easy reach by tubing connected to the system.
• Can be installed to surfaces with P clips / saddles or hung from cabling or wire.
• Misting also keeps the flies away!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to use a High-Pressure Pump with your Static Systems?
Yes, if no high-Pressure Pump is used regular mains pressure will not have sufficient force to open the orifice on our Nozzles, will not be effective & just drip and wet the ground and area in front.
What height and spacing of nozzles is recommended?
As a guide, misting nozzles are usually set at approx 3.0m to 4.2m height but will vary from venue to venue. We can upsize or downsize nozzles also, and spacing would usually be 750mm or 1m for outdoors.
Can I install the delivery line, tubing to any surface?
Mist lines can be fixed to a solid surface (timber, steel or masonry) with the saddles ‘P’ clips supplied. They can also be cable tied to existing cabling, festoons or overhead stainless catenary wire which is a great option for spanning open areas that would otherwise be hard to connect. Avoid fixing lines to any thin or hollow material such as guttering or colourbond sheeting, use a stand off bracket as noise vibration will amplify.
