‘Mist’ an urban cooling installation by Melbourne University:
Researchers at the Melbourne School of Design, unveiled a new design installation themed around an aware urban cooling system, with OZmist, a proud supporter of the project!
The university team identified that heat generated in urban environments limits outdoor activity, compromises health, well-being, and impacts social interaction. 'MIST' uses data gathered from micro sensors to control the OZmist system, regulating a ‘context-aware’ evaporative cooling system within the chosen environment.
The space uses sensors to capture information and then a microcontroller, controllable valves to regulate water emission via OZmist’s high pressure pump, supply lines and ultra fine nozzles to cool the environment.
